An international group of scientists conducted a study that made it possible to conclude that the rapid and wider distribution of the “delta” -variant of coronavirus around the world is associated with its increased ability to reproduce and reduced sensitivity to neutralizing antibodies. The study was published in the Nature magazine.
India specialists along with colleagues from Europe and Japan compared the characteristics of SARS-COV-2 varieties. Lab tests show that compared with the option, first discovered in the Chinese city of Wuhan, “Delta” is six times less sensitive to antibodies of those who have already gotten, and eight times less than those who were vaccinated Pfizer / Biontech and Astrazeneca .
“Delta”, falling into the body, multiplies in the respiratory tract more efficiently than other species. According to scientists, it is associated with a special form of a prickly protein in a delta, which allows it to be easier to penetrate into the cage.
