World Bank Board of Directors plans to approve a new road project for Azerbaijan in the next three months. This was told by the head of the Baku Office of WB Sarah Michael in an interview with Interfax-Azerbaijan.
“The Reconstruction of the Salian Road – Bilyasubar is located at the final stage of preparation and will be approved by the Board of the WB for the next three months,” Michael said.
According to her, the project along with the improvement of road conditions is also aimed at the economic development of the region, according to which the road is held. “This is a certain evolution – we already had several transport projects in Azerbaijan for 25 years. The current project is also transported, but it mainly focuses on regional communication. In addition, it is planned to use part of the funds for the development of the economic opportunities of the region in which the road is held” , – noted Michael.
