In the city of Cholpon-Ata of the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan on Thursday, August 15, the World Sambo Championship started. This is stated in the message on the official website of the International Sambo Federation.
Men and women in sports and combat sambo will compete for the title of best athletes in 26 weight categories.
The competition will be held in the following weight categories:
Sports Sambo (men): 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg
Sports Sambo (women): 50 kg, 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, 80 kg, +80 kg
Battle sambo (men): 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg
Battle sambo (women): 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, 80 kg
More than 250 athletes from 14 countries take part in the competitions.
The tournament will end on August 16.
