Xi Jinping first responded to protests in China

PRC Chairman Xi Jinping told the head of the European Council Charles Michel that there are “disappointed students” behind the Protests against anti -icing restrictions, reports South China Morning Post with reference to European officials.

According to senior officials of the European Union, Si made such a comment during a three -hour meeting in Beijing. This is the first reaction of the Chinese leader to rallies swept through the country.

The EU also noted that Si expressed concern about the vaccination of the elderly, but recognized the lower mortality of the Omicron-Skamm coronavirus. According to European officials, this may indicate the readiness of the head of the PRC to weaken restrictions.
