The National Federation of Karate Azerbaijan (AMKF) according to its plan for the 2022th year gave start to work in the regions.
AMKF Guide Start from Sumgait, where a meeting was held with the participation of the President of Yashara Bashirov and the head of the Department of Youth and Sports of ElGyun Gumbatov.
During the meeting, which also participated in local coaches and judges, the further development of karate in the country was discussed and, in particular, in Sumgait. A report on the results of 2021 was heard, talks about plans and existing problems.
Elgun Gumbat emphasized the special role of Sumgait athletes in the successes of Azerbaijani karate and expressed his readiness to provide all kinds of support to promising karates.
Yashar Bashirov said that, thanks to the care and attention of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijani karate achieved great success. He noted the important role of stimulating athletes. The state is awarding “Carates repays, which, he said, also inspires athletes and coaches, so they are even more fruitful and responsiblely prepare for the following competitions.
Yashar Bashirov also said that some minor organizations with various motivating activities attract athletes and coaches, which causes the disadvantage and internal discontent in the Olympic Karate Azerbaijan. According to the President of the Federation, such negative moments leave the shadows of the progress, which were mined for years.
During the meeting, also a representative of AMKF in Sumgait Akif Kerimov was awarded a certificate of coach of the World Karate Federation (WKF).
He said that last year 18 karates from Sumgait in various age categories achieved high results in the country championships and were invited to the national team of Azerbaijan. At the August Youth Championship of Europe in Finland Nihad Kerimzade won gold, and Ice Aliyeva is bronze. In addition, Osman Osmanla became a silver medalist of the 1st games of the CIS.
Meeting recalled that the Karate Sumgath School presented the world of such karates like Raphael Agayev, Seymour Huseynov, YuSif Jafarov, Eldar Guluev, Mushvig Mahmudov, Nargiz Mehdiyev, Eldar Akhmedov, Murad Hajizade and others.
