Yerevan: Meeting Of Prosecutor Generals Of CIS Countries Took Place

In Yerevan, under the chairmanship of the Russian Prosecutor General, the 34th meeting of the Coordinating Council of General Prosecutors of the States (KSGP), participants of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), was held. This was reported in the press service of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.

The event was attended by the Prosecutors of Armenia, Belarus, Tajikistan, deputy heads of supervisory departments of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the KSGP Secretariat.

Opening the meeting, Krasnov expressed confidence that the work of the Council will be held in a constructive manner, and its results will be useful for all participants.

“I am convinced that the exchange of experience and best practices will contribute to the improvement of prosecutorial activities, including for further combining joint efforts in order to counteract modern criminal threats, as well as to protect the rights and freedoms of citizens of our countries,” said the Russian Prosecutor General.

Krasnov made a report “Organization of prosecutorial supervision of compliance with the rights of socially vulnerable categories of the population”.

Upon completion of the meeting, the prosecutor general of Russia said that all issues of the agenda were considered, the current areas of the Council were discussed, important decisions were made aimed at the further development of interagency cooperation.

The head of the Russian supervisory authority noted that the meeting was supported by the proposal to hold the prosecutor’s forum planned next month in Minsk together with the Eurasian group to counteract the legalization of criminal proceeds and the financing of terrorism. The prosecutor General of Russia noted that such a meeting is relevant, and the exchange of views will significantly expand the horizons in counteracting general threats.

by the decision of the participants of the 34th meeting, the Prosecutor General of Russia was elected chairman of the KSGP for 2025, the next meeting will be held in the Republic of Tajikistan.

A meeting of the Coordinating Council of the Prosecutors of the CIS countries is taking place in Armenia for the first time in 17 years.
