Moscow will react rigidly to any unfriendly actions related to attempts to somehow deprive Russia of ownership of its sovereign reserves. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova, whose words are given on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry on February 10.
“in the West will not stop and will look for all new prepositions to create the visibility of the legitimacy of the weaning of our assets. I have considered the remedies for Russia -owned funds as banal theft and the desire of the expropriators to replenish our own pockets. Such an approach, in essence, is not surprising, since it is not surprising, because The “collective West” has long been trying to extend to our country the neocolonial practice of doing business, in which Washington, Brussels and their satellites take away all rights and privileges, and only obligations and losses leave the other side, “said the diplomat.
According to Zakharova, when Russia stopped putting up with this, “in fact, they declared a hybrid war, introduced unprecedented restrictive measures against international law, promised to inflict” strategic defeat “and” tear the economy into shreds. “
“We will react hard to any unfriendly actions related to attempts to somehow deprive Russia of ownership of its sovereign reserves,” the diplomat said.
“If a scenario is still implemented using Russian reserves as a pledge or the use of other support tools, any persons and funds that will be decided to purchase the relevant bonds will be the first candidates for falling under our countermeasures, including financial and property. The government is currently considering a number of options for providing legal and economic impact on those who expect to cash in the theft of the assets belonging to us, ”she added.
In addition, Zakharova reported that the Department of City Property of the city of Moscow decided to terminate the lease agreements for land plots granted for the placement of the Embassy of Ukraine in Moscow.
She recalled that in April last year, the Kiev City Council announced the breakdown of the lease on the land, where the complex of buildings of the Russian Embassy in Ukraine is located.
“As you know, there is a principle of reciprocity in diplomacy. In connection with this, the Department of Urban Property of the city of Moscow also decided to terminate the lease agreements for land plots granted for the placement of the Embassy of Ukraine in Moscow. The Ukrainian side was informed about this” – said the diplomat.
