ZALENSKY: Security Guarantees Strengthen Ukraine, But Do Not Replace Goal Of Becoming Member Of NATO

Agreements on security cooperation between countries strengthen Ukraine, but are not a substitution of the country’s purpose to become a member of NATO. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, whose words quoted by the official Internet representation of the head of the Ukrainian state.

The President of Ukraine noted that during the year active work continued on the “reliable architecture of security guarantees” for Ukraine.

“They strengthen Ukraine, but do not replace the goal of becoming a member of NATO,” he said.

According to Zelensky, Ukraine “has 23 strong agreements, and there will be agreements with other countries.” “We have a historically important security agreement with the United States,” the head of the Ukrainian state said.

The President of Ukraine added that all this work contributed to the receipt of long-term obligations for military assistance, additional air defense systems, promotion in the issue of transferring F-16 aircraft and the development of defense cooperation.

“The Ukrainian contract takes our relationship to a new level. A significant achievement for Ukraine and all of us,” Zelensky stated.

It is noted that the document is open to sign with other countries and records long -term military and defense support, the development of future defense forces of Ukraine and the mechanism of emergency consultations between partners in case of an ongoing escalation of war or possible aggression in the future. >

At the end of the 75th NATO summit in Washington, a Ukrainian contract was adopted.

The document became an addition to the joint declaration of the G7, which was agreed at the previous NATO summit in Vilnius in 2023.
