Zelensky And Meloni Discussed Restoration And Defense Needs Of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky met with Italy Prime Minister George Melony. The meeting took place on the fields of the Ambrosetti forum on September 7. This is stated on the website of the Ukrainian leader.

The head of state thanked for all the allocated military-technical assistance packages to Ukraine, and also noted the importance of the speedy transfer of weapons to the country.

“We are very grateful to you and your team, to the whole Italian people for the support that you provided to us,” Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian president also informed Meloni about the “situation on the battlefield, the recent shelling of the civil and critical infrastructure of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, and also spoke about relevant defense needs”.

Leaders discussed steps on the practical implementation of the G7 decision to provide Ukraine with about $ 50 billion due to frozen Russian assets.

Zelensky also attracted attention to the decision of Italy to adopt the next conference on the restoration of Ukraine, which will be held in 2025. Preparations for this event have already begun, ”the message says.

The restoration of Ukraine, in particular the energy system, is one of the issues that the parties discussed during the meeting.

Separate attention was paid to the implementation of the formula of the world, since “Italy is actively involved in the implementation of each point.”

Meanwhile, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Italy says that the leaders discussed the latest events in the field, the urgent needs of Ukraine in the conditions of the approaching winter colds and the “continuing attacks of Russia on the civilian population and the critical infrastructure.”
