Zelensky and Vucich discussed general challenges on way to EU membership

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held with President Serbia Alexander Vuchic on the sidelines of the Ukraine -Balkans summit, held in Athens.

According to the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine, “the parties noted that mutual support for territorial integrity and sovereignty is an important part of the partnership of Ukraine and Serbia.”

The head of the Ukrainian state informed a colleague about the situation at the front and actions of the Ukrainian army.

“Leaders discussed the most important issues of regional security, bilateral relations and prospects for their development. Separately, the presidents paid attention to general challenges along the path of Ukraine and Serbia to membership in the European Union,” the report said.

Zelensky expressed gratitude to Vuchich for the humanitarian assistance that Serbia provides to the Ukrainian people, as well as for the support of Ukrainians who found refuge in this country.

“The President of Ukraine invited the Serbian side to support the Ukrainian formula of the world and take part in the third summit of the International Crimean Platform on August 23 of this year,” the text says.

“An open, honest and fruitful meeting with the President of Serbia. A good conversation about compliance with the UN Charter and the indestructibility of borders. About the general future of our peoples in the common European house. On the development of our relations, this is in our common interests,” Zelensky wrote in in Twitter.
