The United States should put pressure on Russia to ensure the ceasefire in the Black Sea. This was the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, speaking at a joint press conference with the French colleague Emmanuel Macron in the Champs Elysees in Paris.
The head of the Ukrainian state attracted attention to the fact that despite the decision-making in the negotiations in the ER-Riyad, the attack of the RF Armed Forces on Ukraine continues.
Zelensky emphasized the need for more active joint steps for the “real” completion of the conflict.
According to him, Russia puts forward “additional conditions” for the ceasefire in the Black Sea, and Ukraine expects the United States to ensure a “unconditional nature of silence” (ceasefire) in the region.
At the same time, Zelensky specified that the issue of possible lifting sanctions from Russia was not discussed between the delegations of Ukraine and the United States during negotiations in Saudi Arabia.
The President also said that he discussed with Macron the supply of additional French fighters Mirage 2000, as well as the possibility of deploying foreign troops in Ukraine as part of security guarantees, which, in his opinion, could prevent new attacks from Russia.
The President of Ukraine said that in the case of the placement of peacekeeping forces in the country, their main task will be to control the situation in the field. “No one wants to draw a particular country into the war. The contingent is very important for control,” the Ukrainian leader emphasized.
He also added that at the upcoming summit in Ukraine, which will be held in Paris, negotiations on this issue will be held.
