22 million tons of Ukrainian grain has been blocked since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said at a briefing with Portugal Antoniu Koshta.
“Russia has blocked almost all the ports. We, let’s say, are the marine possibilities of food export – our grain, barley, sunflower and other things. 22 million tons today is blocked by the Russian Federation,” the Zelensky Russian service quoted BBC.
According to Ukrainian Pravda, until February 24, the supply of wheat from Russia and Ukraine amounted to almost 30% of world trade, Ukraine was the fifth exporter of wheat in the world. In particular, the UN World Food Program for poor countries annually purchased about half of the wheat in Ukraine.
