President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting in Kyiv with the newly appointed state secretary of the UK defense by Grant Shapps.
According to the press service of the Ukrainian president, Zelensky thanked Great Britain for the financial, defense and humanitarian support of Ukraine.
The head of state praised the level of cooperation with the United Kingdom in the defense sector, which “allows to significantly expand the capabilities of the Ukrainian army on the battlefield, in particular, thanks to long -range weapons.”
Interlocutors also discussed the issues of strengthening Ukrainian air defense.
“Separately noted the adoption of the Seven Group at the NATO Vilnius Summit on the support of Ukraine and the beginning of negotiations with the UK on the conclusion of the relevant bilateral security guarantees for Ukraine,” the press service said.
