So he commented on the statement of US President Donald Trump that his administration was conducting “very serious” negotiations with Russia on the end of the war.
“They can have their own relationship, but talking about Ukraine without us is dangerous for all,” Zelensky said in an interview with The Associated Press.
According to him, his team maintains contact with the Trump administration, but these discussions are at a “general level”, and he believes that personal meetings will take place in the near future to develop more detailed agreements.
“We need to work more on this,” said the President of Ukraine.
Zelensky also noted that Russia does not want to participate in negotiations on the ceasefire or discuss any concessions. At the same time, he is sure that Donald Trump can force Vladimir Putin to sit down at the negotiating table, threatening with sanctions against the Russian energy and banking systems, as well as continuing to support the Ukrainian military.
On the eve of Donald Trump said that he was conducting a “very serious” discussion with Russia on the end of the war in Ukraine. “I am ready to do everything in my power to stop this war. We are already holding serious negotiations. They are planned and continued. We are conducting very important discussions aimed at putting an end to this war, having reached an agreement with Russia,” – He said.
