The Armed Forces of Ukraine advanced in different directions of 1-2 km since the beginning of the day and captured more than 100 Russian troops in the Kursk region of Russia. This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday following the report of the Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky.
“In the Kursk region we are moving on. From one to two kilometers in different areas from the beginning of the day. And more than 100 prisoners of Russians for the same period. I am grateful to all involved. This will accelerate the return of our guys home,” the head of state wrote th in telegram.
Syrfa, in turn, reported to the head of state about the completion of the operation in the city of Suda of the Kursk Region.
“The search and destruction of the enemy in the village of Sudzha was completed,” he said in the report of Zelensky.
Situations in the Kursk region
The aggravation of the situation in the border regions of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation began on the morning of August 6, after the Ukrainian army attacked the positions of Russian troops. Fierce battles between Russian and Ukrainian troops continue in the border areas, and large -scale drones attacks are recorded in settlements.
In particular, intensive combat operations are carried out in the Sudzhansky district of the region, however, in neighboring areas, a rocket hazard is not ceased to roar. The situation in the region has been recognized as a federal emergency.
In addition, against the backdrop of an exacerbation of the situation in the three Russian regions, the regime of a counter -terrorist operation (KO), which touched the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions, is introduced.
Under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there are 28 settlements of the Kursk region, said earlier the acting governor of the region Alexei Smirnov during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, security officials and heads of other regions. “To date, 28 settlements are under the control of the enemy, the depth of penetration into the territory of the Kursk region is 12 km, the width of the front is 40 km,” he said.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Wednesday said that the losses of the Ukrainian army per day in the Kursk direction amounted to 270 military and 16 units of armored vehicles.
