President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky went on Thursday with a working visit to the Kherson region for a coordination meeting to eliminate the consequences of undermining the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station.
“There are many important questions: the operational situation in the area that has developed as a result of the disaster, the evacuation of the population from potential flooding zones, the elimination of the emergency caused by the undermining of the dam, the organization of the life support of the flooded territories. Also prospects for the renewal of the region’s ecosystem and the operational military situation in the zone Technogenic disaster, ”Zelensky wrote in Telegram.
The Ukrainian leader noted that it is important to calculate losses and allocate funds for compensation to residents injured as a result of the disaster and to develop a program for compensation for losses or relocation of enterprises within Kherson.
Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station in the Kherson region of Ukraine was destroyed on the morning of June 6. The area is at risk of flooding.
The parties impose responsibility for each other for the breakthrough of the dam.
