“Brussels signal about the possibility of receiving Ukraine to the composition of the European Union in the near future would be a political guarantee of its security.” This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Igor Zhovkva.
Zhovkva also reminded that on February 19, Bulgaria became the eighth country that signed the Declaration on the European perspective of Ukraine.
“In the near future, several more such documents will be concluded, so we have every reason to expect a further expansion of the circle of supporters of the European perspective of Ukraine,” said the deputy head of the Zelensky office.
Previously, the declaration was signed by Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, Slovakia, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba celebrated Western countries to give a clear signal that the country would be a member of the EU. In February 2019, the Verkhovna Rada approved amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine, enshrining the strategic course of the country for joining the EU and NATO.
