President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov laid a capsule for the construction of the Academy of the Spanish Football Club of Barcelona in Bishkek, the press service of the Kyrgyz leader reports.
The sports complex will be erected in the south of the capital, its area will be 15.85 hectares. The infrastructure of the complex will include a large football stadium with a capacity of 10 thousand people, a football academy with 2 large fields and several small football fields. Also on the territory of the complex a sports hall, a modern pool, a 7-story medical clinic, a museum, a cafe and a hotel under the Barcelona brand (Barça).

The design of the complex also includes a secondary school for 1000 student places and a kindergarten for 700 places. The Academy on an ongoing basis will study 240-300 pupils and about 2 thousand children from the regions to get the opportunity to visit sections of the football academy.
The volume of investments involved in the implementation of the project is about 10 billion soms (more than 113 million dollars). The construction of the complex is planned to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026.
The capsule laying ceremony was held with the participation of the President of the Barcelona football club Joan Lapates, as well as the famous ex-players of the Catalan team.
The head of state in his speech noted that the eminent football club first implements its projects in Central Asia.
At the same time, the president emphasized that in Kyrgyzstan today much attention is paid to the development of modern sports infrastructure.
Zhaparov thanked the president of the Barcelona football club Joan Laprat, the legendary players of this team for personal participation in events to launch joint projects in Kyrgyzstan.
