Zhaparov: There is no emergency in energy industry of Kyrgyzstan

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov commented on the introduction of an emergency regime in the energy industry of Kyrgyzstan.

In an interview with IA, Kabar Zhaparov noted that there is no emergency in the energy industry of Kyrgyzstan. According to him, the decree gives the Minister of Energy of the country the authority to quickly make decisions under different circumstances.

“He will coordinate issues related to energy generation, and will have the right to give instructions to local authorities and deputies of the heads of the regional departments of the ministry. So he will be able to control the situation in the country’s energy sector and, if necessary, make important decisions in an operational basis”, – said Zhaparov.

Zhaparov said that the measures taken are aimed at the rapid resolution of problematic issues of the energy sector.

“By 2026, in Kyrgyzstan, the construction of a number of small hydroelectric power stations should be completed according to the plan, due to which the volume of electricity generation will grow in the republic. But to implement these projects, the Minister of Energy needs to be given the authority. In truth, we have long been experiencing an emergency. In the energy sector, since we import it for years. We need to gradually move away from imports, reducing its volume every year, ”he said.
