Zuckerberg Testified In Purchase Of Instagram And WhatsApp

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) began the antimonopoly trial against META, which is investigated by the legality of the acquisition of social networks Instagram and WhatsApp.

META General Director Mark Zuckerberg acted in court as a witness, reports The Hill.

FTC accuses Meta of monopolizing the market of personal social networks by acquiring an Instagram for billions of dollars in 2012 and WhatsApp in 2014 to confront their competition with Facebook (belongs to META) in the field of platforms for communication with relatives and friends. It is noted that Instagram and WhatsApp then showed rapid growth, in connection with which Meta decided to buy competitors.

The commission insists on the restructuring of META or sell Instagram and WhatsApp.
